The Ted's Story

Established in 2012, Ted’s offers a dining experience where comfort food meets refinement … where meals are familiar and nostalgic … food that creates great memories. Ted’s is a homegrown restaurant, recognized by DOT as cleanest and best restaurant in Laguna.

Fuelled by their Southern Tagalog roots, siblings Chef Day Salonga and Pastry Chef Gel Salonga-Datu aim to provide top quality food and services for local clients and tourists. 

Chef Day Salonga, who graduated top of his class at American Hospitality Academy, owns and operates Ted's Kitchen and Aurora Filipino Cuisine in Sta. Cruz, Laguna. He is also a culinary consultant to restaurant operators in Metro Manila and abroad. He is the executive chef and part-owner of Cazuela Colonial Cuisine in Ortigas, Pasig and also part of the food manufacturing company Commissary Kitchen in Quezon City. Chef Day co-authored two bestselling books - World Gourmand Cookbook Awards winners The Malunggay Book and Make Good Money with Malunggay. Chef Day has been sharing recipes thru his column in Cook Magazine for 10 years.

Chef Gel Salonga-Datu is a trader-turned-baker. She has quickly made a name for herself in the local pastry scene. Recognized as one of the country’s up and coming pastry chefs, Chef Gel’s creations have been featured in Inquirer’s Best Desserts list in multiple years, and has been featured in numerous magazines and broadsheets and recently, at Ultimate Taste Test Pro Edition. Chef Gel also has a monthly section in Cook Magazine where she shares her recipes and baking tips.

What started in 2012 as Ted's Kitchen, the Ted's Hospitality Group has grown through the years. Ted's Warehouse Events Space and Ted's Bed and Breakfast followed Ted's Kitchen in 2016. Ted's Warehouse is an airconditioned venue for 200 pax. Ted's Bed and Breakfast and Pool is composed of 13 cabins, perfect for family staycations and corporate team building activities. Aside from these are smaller venues throughout the compound, namely: Angelina's Private Dining, The Birdhouse (a shabby chic garden setting), and Ted's Pavilion.
